Experience

You do NOT need writing or journalism experience to contribute to The Ontarion! A big part of our mission is to provide students with the opportunity to publish their writing for the first time. Since the University of Guelph doesn’t offer a journalism program, most of our volunteers and staff had zero experience until they walked through our doors.

Of course we always love to welcome seasoned writers onto the team as well!

No one was born with a flair for writing and anyone can get to the point of publishing a newspaper article. As long as you are willing to put in the effort to get yourself published, we are too. If you feel like you have some work to do to develop your writing—but are motivated to do it—let us know and we’ll work together on it.
