The Ontarion is much more than a newspaper. As a non-profit, we pursue a mission that goes beyond simply reporting news and making money.
Put simply, we’re here for you. When it comes to learning how the news works, improving your media literacy skills, learning how to use software, or developing other skills, we have many resources to help you.
Media Literacy
We give our community tools to learn how to read the news and avoid being fooled by “fake news,” a broad term that has come to define the new and unique challenges to being an informed citizen and responsible consumer of news.
Building media literacy skills is a lot like creating a fitness routine. No one really knows where to start, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and think it’s an impossible task. But just like starting a new fitness routine, we don’t have to seek perfection!
Learn how The Ontarion can help you on your media literacy journey.
Coming Soon: Bookable Resources
When you publish a newspaper, you tend to accumulate a lot of cool equipment and resources. Starting in September, we’re making these resources available to undergraduate students and clubs.
Be sure to check back then to see what tools and software we have that you can learn to use, completely free of charge.
