U of G fine arts professor John Kissick faces new charge in assault case

Talia Yeo, Kissick’s ex-girlfriend, presses charge

A fourth charge was added to John Kissick’s court case late last week. The new assault charge adds on to the previous charges of assault, and two charges of assault with a weapon.

Talia Yeo, Kissick’s ex-girlfriend, told The Ontarion that all four charges stem from separate incidents over the past two years, until their relationship ended in August 2018.

In a video posted to Yeo’s Facebook and Instagram, which was viewed by The Ontarion and that was briefly available on CBC, a man is seen striking a woman with an unknown object following a verbal argument. The video is no longer publicly available.

Lori Bona Hunt, director of integrated communications at U of G, said that Kissick remains on leave pending the results of an ongoing review. Kissick is also a co-founder of Four Fathers Brewing.

Kissick and Yeo are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019.
